| What You’ll Actually Pay for a GLP-1 |
At $1,000+ per month before insurance, GLP-1 list prices can cause sticker shock. But the price you actually pay can be very different.
💳 For eligible patients with commercial insurance, savings cards can lower costs to as little as $25/month. Both Zepbound and Wegovy offer manufacturer cards.
💊 Newer options are lowering the barrier. Zepbound’s self-pay vials start at $299/month. Wegovy’s new oral tablet starts at $149/month.
🏥 Coverage varies, and by a lot. Knowing what your plan will and won’t pay before you fill a prescription can avoid any surprises at the counter.
🆘 No insurance? You still have options. Patient assistance programs exist specifically for people paying out of pocket.
The cost picture is changing fast, so these medications may fall within your budget already.
