Recipe of the Week
Double chocolate almond cookies
Chocolate lovers, this one's for you. The dough includes cocoa powder, with additional chocolate chips folded in at the end. This recipe doesn't call for butter or oil; the only other ingredients are almond butter, coconut sugar, vanilla, baking soda, and an egg.
Dark chocolate has several health benefits, such as supporting skin health and improving some risk factors for heart disease. It also contains antioxidants, which are associated with boosting brain health and improving blood sugar management. (However, since it's high in calories and can contain added sugar, it's best consumed in moderation.)
To reap these health benefits, choose a dark chocolate with a high percentage of cocoa: 70% to 85%.
